It hasn’t been the easiest few weeks but that hasn’t dented my optimism nor my excitement for the coming spring.

I mentioned in the last video about needing to take some time out…..and that’s still true….but when I’m sitting down doing this kind of job it’s the perfect opportunity to catch up with you all. I’m filling patchwork bags with lavender……and chatting about what’s going on.
A couple more questions and answers to finish off my Q&A. Thank you for watching. Please note: due to personal issues piling up I will be taking a short break from filming and social media. I hope it won’t be for too long….and I hope you will still be here when I come back. Thank you for your continued support.
With the remnants of a storm still blowing outside it’s another day trying to find fun indoors…….today it’s all about the first indoor sowings of the year, the peppers, yay! Then I attend to my over-wintered Pelargoniums by giving them a tidy up and hacking them to bits for cuttings to increase my stock.
With another storm soaking us it’s a good excuse to stay tucked up indoors and process the rosemary……and answer another couple of questions from you, this time about my former jobs. Grab your knitting or sewing…a cup of tea…a slice of cake…and get cosy with me on the sofa.
With another storm due this weekend I decided it was high time to go and check on the garden to see how it had fared during Storm Ciara…..on the way I popped into the park where my adopted pear tree lives to see if it was still OK. Once at my garden I got stuck in to some mouse prevention….
I’m making the most of the quiet time in the garden by getting on with some maintenance and tinkering jobs. Today I tackle the missing pane in my coldframe…….and start my first vegetable seeds of the year.
It’s Sunday so it’s time to chill on the sofa for a while…..grab your knitting or sewing and hang out with me while I make a start on some of the questions you sent in. Oh, but first, I’m a bit distracted by my books…..again….
I have very expensive taste in fabric so it makes sense to use every last scrap of it. I love to patch by hand using the English Paper Piecing method, which I show here…..but I don’t mind doing a bit on the machine. I also chat here about my love of fabric and my tip for saving and using the last bit of thread from a bobbin.
February feels like a month of lull…….the old garden is dying (or being scoffed by me!) and the ground work is being laid for the new garden……..the days are getting longer and slightly warmer……we’re right on the cusp of things going mad…….so it’s time to make the most of the hush and enjoy what we have right now before it all kicks off again.
