On the Sofa: A short intermission.

A quick video, by my standards (!) to share some lovely linens and postbag stuff….but also to let you know I will be going quiet for a while. The shop will stay open but otherwise I will be off-line and will not be responding to messages or emails. This is not about the Queen’s death….it is coincidental. From midnight Saturday the 17th I will be off-line/unresponsive for a few days.

On the Sofa: Chatty Girl.

It’s a long chatty one (grab a cuppa and your knitting!) and thoroughly random subjects…….things that I’ve seen, thoughts I’ve had……..shops, buses, tv, soap, joy…… Filmed on the first day of September…..hence references to still being hot.

Vivi’s Kitchen Garden: Brassicas, onions and friends.

My plans in the garden today completely changed in response to recent weather……and a couple of overdue jobs. It turned into a beautiful day….the sort of day to slow down and appreciate…….especially if there are friends around and maybe even a beer…..or two! It’s all about the onions, lavender, brassicas and friends.

On the Sofa: Flat Tour (part 2).

Continuing with the tour of my flat……hahaha, it was never going to be in one part as each piece in my home has a bit of a story to it! It is normally a bit chaotic with all my different ‘jobs’ cluttering the place but after a big push with shop stuff…..and with the expectation of a visit from friends I’ve had a bit of a tidy up so don’t mind showing you around……come on in and make yourself comfortable.

On the Sofa: Flat Tour (part 1).

A little bit of a change today…..and something I have been asked to do many times over the last few years……..a tour of my flat. It is normally a bit chaotic with all my different ‘jobs’ cluttering the place but after a big push with shop stuff…..and with the expectation of a visit from friends I’ve had a bit of a tidy up so don’t mind showing you around……come on in and make yourself comfortable.

Vivi’s Kitchen Garden: Starting the September jobs.

With deliciously cooler weather arriving and the light softening it is time to start in on the September jobs. Harvesting and watering continue but my attention also turns to maintenance and tidying and getting the garden ready for rougher weather……and trying to prolong the productivity of some of the plants.

Vivi’s Kitchen Garden: Lavender – plant, grow, harvest.

It’s time to harvest the lavender – I ought to have done it a couple of weeks ago……never mind, so long as it is gathered now before our forecast rain comes. I chat a little about varieties, planting, growing conditions, drying etc, the things I have done to give me the best chance of a wonderful harvest.
