Conscious consumerism. A very thought provoking book, Patrick Grant’s ‘Less’, has made me look, again, at how I consume……and prompted me to make a few, simple changes. It also shines a spotlight on why Capitalism doesn’t work. Beyond the politics I gather more tomatoes and chat about ideas for Christmas gifting with a tight budget and a conscience.

I’ve enjoyed a wonderful few days with my fabulous friends Richard & Paul. We packed a lot into a few days…..castles, steam ships, caves and more. Here’s a little of it. It’s a mixed bag of random chat today (interrupted by seagulls and neighbours!): Scout Finch, chalk streams, Enid Blyton, Pompei, ‘Hidden life of Trees’, cop shows and AI. Hahaha, yes, a very mixed bag!

Today I’m harvesting and saving seeds ready for next year’s garden and reflecting on what I’ve learned about this, new-to-me, garden in year one……plus some hopes for next year. Seeds to be saved: tomato, cucumber, beans.

It’s a bit of a long chatty one today so grab a cuppa and the ironing…or craft project. In which I have a big scare when my new meters get fitted, a rant about on-line reviews and charity shop prices…..oh, and over-zealous selling……and, finally, meeting Eric.

There’s a lot to do…..so it’s high time I get some balls rolling…..electrics, fire safety, roof, windows and on the list goes. Plus a couple of great books…..one of which might just be my book of the year! And all the usual chat including a fab charity shop find.

A visit from my bestie! You’ve heard me talk about Kate many times…..and here she is. I’m so glad Kate agreed to being filmed. My fabulous friend and I reminisce about how we met…..London in the 90’s……life before mortgages and husbands and kids! AND!!…..a couple of pictures from back then…..I hope you’ll enjoy the chat as we nosh down on the gorgeous hamper Kate brought.
