With temperatures getting too high for gardening again I hunker down at home……and get even hotter! I’m pressing linens and chatting about a conversation with a garden friend which gave me a bit of a light-bulb moment. Plus….a little TMI moment at the end that gets me even more steamy.
With all the watering and garden time recently it feels like an age since I had a chatty catch-up with you…..so while we’re sweltering again I thought we could all do with a time out, maybe with a chilled drink….or ice-lolly, for a natter.
It’s time to go shopping…….but with a difference. This week’s shopping costs a whopping zero pounds! Once the ‘shopping’ is done I chat through my meal planning/meal ideas.
The shed is a bit tidier now so I have space for bringing some harvests in…..today I’m lifting my sad little onions and harvesting my monster Lemon Balm ‘bush’. With a bit of chat about storage and uses. And a ‘before’ and ‘after’ of the shed.
It’s a chatty one as I work. The focus over the last few weeks has been very much on getting the garden planted and keeping it alive with lots of watering….as a result the shed is a chaotic mess. It needs a good sort out and tidy up in readiness for the harvests to come so today I am cracking into that task…..and while I am at it I begin the process of preparing to leave the garden.
It’s the first day of August and time to see how the garden is doing. It’s all about four weeks behind but there are some signs of growth…….and even the first few pickings to be had.
