Oh my giddy goodness…it’s the end of another month…..AND the end of another year! Time has flown during this roller-coaster year………I’m taking a few minutes out today to reflect on the ups and downs and to wish you all a very happy new year.
Happy Christmas everyone! Hahaha…it’s a bit of a long one so grab yourself a cuppa and a slice of cake and come hang out with me a while.
It’s the day after the winter solstice so I’m celebrating the coming of longer days with a visit to the garden. I have tidying to do and some harvesting. It seems like I’m not the only one planning to dig up parsnips today……
I’m getting myself in a Christmassy mood by popping out to my High Street at dusk to enjoy the lights and buy myself some treats for a tenner (£10/$13). I did this for the first time last year and it was such a simple joy to me that I think it will now be an annual tradition.
Hurrah! I’m back to the garden for the first time in over a month. I apologise for every sniffle and cough throughout…..I’m still a little under-the-weather…..but, never mind that, how is the garden doing? Did it survive a bashing from storms Arwen and Barra? Having seen my friend Paul’s broad bean seedlings demolished by mice will mine be the same? How much work will greet me? …..and there is also a moment for reflection after some very sad news this week.
More memories today prompted by the last of my declutter…..and a book. Memories of calligraphy and of my book selling days……and Manchester days spent at the cinema……
I’ve had another cosy, busy week at home……and throughout the week there have been many giggles and smiles…but also a few frowns. I’ve been getting on with all sorts of jobs and the very last bit of decluttering (in my bureau) which has thrown up some wonderful memories……
In the final part of decluttering my wardrobe I tackle the really difficult one…..the one that throws up all sorts of tricky emotions…………the trunk under the bed. It offers up so many forgotten treasures…..and a really special item right in the bottom. Then, at the end, the final wardrobe reveal…..
Gosh, I’m still decluttering the wardrobe! This time I’m tackling the shelved section….and finding some long since forgotten items….and a few which make me giggle. Bags, seasonal items…and the tiniest bikini ever!
I’m taking a few minutes out of my day amongst my piles of stuff everywhere to have a bit of a catch-up with some thank yous for parcels received……plus a couple of new books, daydreams about food, magazine reviews, a couple more books to review……..a recent charity shop purchase…. Haha, yes, it’s a proper mixed bag of a catch-up…….grab yourself a cup of tea!
