At Home: How much?!

The tomato harvest of ’25. How many plants are needed for self-sufficiency? Plans for a decorating theme. Gob-smacking book. Scary tool!

Vivi’s Cottage Garden: Back to gardening!

After a six week hiatus (weather, visits, catching up with work and the building) I’m back in the garden for more than just harvesting! It’s a bit overwhelming so I’m breaking down the jobs as I plan for the winter garden. Plus: how big is your garden Vivi? I’ll be answering this today.

On the Sofa: Answering Your Questions – Part Three

Thank you for sending in your questions…..it’s a really mixed bag; health, home, budgeting, pets, reflecting on the move….and more. There were so many (fab) questions I’ve had to split them into 3 parts. I hope you’ll enjoy.

At Home: Family, Cribbage and Sea Shanties….and a lighthouse!

A lovely visit from family with food from their garden and a lesson in a card game. Plus a very windy day on the Isle of Portland followed by a night out that saw me singing at the top of my lungs. A jolly good time!

At Home: Slow and Steady

Slow and steady wins the race! Haha…the race has only just started but things are happening. Today it’s all about the electrics and the removal of appliances…..my kitchen is a temporary junk-yard but I’m delighted…..because it represents progress.

In the Kitchen: Lunch from the Garden (Hot Salad Lunch)

Yay! I’m finally making meals from my garden again. This is a gorgeous hot salad for lunch….or, double the portion for supper. It’s just 268 calories of yumminess. Simple ingredients (lentils, beans, greens and tomatoes), a fairly quick cook…..and a bowl full of health and comfort (especially on days like today when I seem to be a bit ill).
