A bit of shopping from the garden and the supermarket should give me enough ingredients to ‘play’ with to create all my meals for a week. I spent a total of £3.84 (US$4.60).

Vivi’s Kitchen Garden: The Squash Harvest ’23. Plus storing & recipes.
The forecast says we are finally going to get a dry day. So, of course, that means only one thing…..it’s time to get the squash harvest in! My guess is 15. Once the harvest is in I chat about storage ideas and some lovely recipes to try.
On the Sofa: I was fuming!
My mood, last week, turned rather like the weather…….stormy and dark! Having calmed down a bit now I explain why……but first, a couple of jobs in the kitchen.
On the Sofa (with books). Cosy Time (Books & Crafts).
Grab a cuppa and join me for some cosy time with books and chat. Today I’m talking about a book on corn doll making plus Anne Meredith’s ‘Portrait of a Murderer’ and Fiona Davison’s ‘An Almost Impossible Thing’.
Beyond Frugal: A day in the life of a frugal girl: Winter Prepping
Another rainy day sees me pined at home getting on with myriad jobs. It’s a typical day in the life of a frugal girl during which many of the jobs are about prepping for winter……..always for the least money possible (even better if I can do things for no money).
Vivi’s Kitchen Garden: Rescue Harvest.
With some rather inclement weather moving in I race to rescue some of my harvests.
Vivi’s Kitchen Garden: It’s a shocking state!
The worst state my garden has ever been in……..so why am I still cheerful? And how will I put it right?
On the Sofa: Madonna, Swanage, Bra Saga (part 3!!).
The weather has finally turned autumnal so on a rainy day what better than having a sit and natter. It’s a real mixed bag today; Madonna is in the news and on my CD player, some memories of Swanage and a moment on my trip home which I forgot to mention…….some uses for old wedding dresses and, good grief, part three (!) of the bra saga! Grab a cuppa and your craft project and join me for a chat.
In the Kitchen: Beans! Storing and cooking. Frozen/Dried. FAQs answered.
Today I’m all about beans! Based on frequently asked questions over the years I’ll be explaining how I tackle: harvesting, processing, storing and cooking my beans…….both frozen (demi-sec) and dried.
On the Sofa: I don’t want a big garden (your house move concerns addressed).
Phew….just in from harvesting, all hot and sweaty….and full of excitement for my next adventure. But, first, addressing some questions and concerns raised recently about my house move. Health care, rent or sell, out of season visit etc………and the big one of gardening/allotmenteering in the future.
