I don’t know whether it was the Christmas decorations or something else…..but a memory of life at my grandparent’s place in Dorset was sparked, it was so lovely to remember…. It’s time to get stuck into a job which I have been putting off for ages……..and in doing so I discover another couple of maintenance jobs which really need to be a priority.

A wee gift suddenly triggers some lovely memories of working as a paediatric nurse at Christmas…..and remembering the year we had snow.

It’s time to do some brassica cares……I need to thwart the pigeons somehow…but before I do I can’t resist a quick harvest.

It’s a little earlier than I normally do it but……today I’m getting out my Christmas decorations….yay! Each one is a special wee trip down memory lane.

Hurray for some more lovely plants to get in the ground……except it’s after 12 hours of heavy rain so it’s a bit of a mud bath! Today I’m planting fennel, frisee lettuce and more broad beans.

Another window on the advent calendar, a few thank yous and a wonderful surprise parcel.

Another window to open…..and then we’re off to the garden for some slow time. The birds were out in force to keep me company while I quietly got on with planting some lovely gifts….

It’s time for our 8th window on the advent calendar…..and a haircut. Hahaha, I’m not going to make the same mistake twice……..am I?

Winter is the perfect time to get on with all sorts of maintenance jobs. Today I am tending to the woodchip path between my plot and my neighbours’….and there’s some great news about a future water supply.
