A bit of chat about my most recent read and all the wonderful memories it prompted in me and the reaction it drew from me about my least favourite flowers – ugh, shudder. Thoughts then turn to the next book in the pile.

Vivi’s Kitchen Garden 295: Onion harvest & winter prep.
I am very late harvesting my onions this year but as we have been so dry for so long they should be alright. Once they’re out of the ground I will have two beds free to plant up with more veggies for the winter, in this case it will be more brassicas. I also need to check on the brassicas planted earlier in the year.

It’s early September and time to have a look around the garden. There’s definitely a look of autumn about the place now.
Vivi’s Kitchen Garden 294: Mowing, strimming & trimming (& wildlife).
I have grass paths in my garden…..I keep them tidy with a bit of strimming and a bit of trimming. Last month I ran out of strimmer cord so today I am replacing it. I reflect a little on why I prefer to keep grass paths and how/when I maintain them to make me happy with a tidy garden but also with keeping a mind on the wildlife. Grass paths rock for wildlife!!!
Coco de Paimpol! Harvesting, storing & cooking. A love affair.
Today I am all about my precious Coco de Paimpol beans. It has not been a good year for them but here I explain what to look for to choose the perfect moment for harvesting in order to enjoy the beans at their best and how to store them at their best. I also talk a little about cooking them from storage.

September has arrived and with it autumn…….and my mind has been in France. Reading about gorgeous French food I can’t help but think of my precious Coco de Paimpol beans……it’s time to harvest! Thoughts on……Month 40: Weird month, weird year.
Hmmmm……what to say about this month? It has been a bit of a naughty pickle! But as always, on reflection, the good stuff far out-weighs the not-so-good. August Time Out: Day 28: Finding ‘normal’ again.
August has disappeared in a flash…..I don’t quite know where! Today I finally start in on my ‘to-do’ list and begin to get organised for having my shop again. It feels so good to be doing this…..it feels like I am finding a bit of normality again after months of oddness.

My recent migraine, coinciding with a storm got me wondering about the weather and my body……..is there an influence? So I did a bit of research……
August Time Out: Day 26: My toughest garden year, ever!
This has been my toughest year, ever, in the garden. Here I reflect on it a little……yes, I am a bit despondent, a bit down hearted but I’m still finding the positives! My heart goes out to all of you who are also having a tough year and feeling demoralised at this point. We’ll sit with these feelings a while……then put on our big girl pants again and get back on with things.
