Before we get stuck into all the jobs this February I am taking a quick lookback at how the garden looked and what jobs I was doing last February. Haha, in doing so I realise one job is a whole year late….

Vivi’s Kitchen Garden: Mulching.
After nearly a month away from the garden it’s time to get back and get stuck into the jobs. Today I’m mulching with whatever organic material I can lay my hands on. I mulch for a number of reasons: for moisture retention, for weed suppression and especially for soil protection and ultimately soil feeding.

Hurrah for the start of another month and the slight lengthening of the days which means we can start off a few more seeds. Here I run through a few seeds you could start now, what I’ll be starting for my kitchen garden…..and a few other jobs we can all be getting on with.
