It may be the worst idea ever……or……it may just work. I like to experiment and have fun…..and this little corner of the garden has no food production pressure on it so I might as well have a go…….

The weather has changed but it’s still wonderfully mild and time in the garden is a pleasure. I have a quick visit to my adopted pear tree to check on it’s progress and then get on with a few more little jobs in the garden before stopping to natter with neighbours.
Following on from a similar video I made at the end of last summer here is a typical day of what I eat based around my garden produce…..this time it’s winter and most of what I eat comes from produce stored at the end of last autumn.
What a contrast to last year……then I was walking through a few inches of snow to have a look around the garden……now I am bathed in beautiful sunshine and warmth.
The crazy beautiful, warm weather this month has put me into a slower mode……taking time to enjoy each moment and relish what I have…..and then the little naughty angel on my shoulder tells me off for being a slacker……well, enough of that I say…..life is for enjoying and doing a good enough job….
My Pelargoniums (Geraniums) have been over-wintered at home and now is the time for me to take some cuttings to increase my stock for the garden this summer. The sun is still shining here so I make the most of it by getting on with some little odd jobs and catching up with garden friends.
A few more thoughts about seed saving after the chat about my spoiled beans in the last video…..then another lovely, quiet session in the garden doing some more pruning and appreciating the first of the flowers.
I’m still making the most of the good weather by getting on with odd jobs around the garden including making my bean trenches. I also have a bit of a chat about a problem I encounter from time to time with my saved bean seed.
The sunshine and warmth continue. During a beautifully quiet morning I tend to my broad beans and prune my rose ‘tree’. Slow gardening, quiet chat and soaking up the moment is the order of the day.
On a gloriously warm and sunny morning I make time to tend the herb garden. The warmth makes me daydream about summer…..and other herbs I may find to plant in my little patch. It really is a delicious feeling to be enveloped by warmth and brightness in the garden again…
