On a gloriously warm and sunny morning I make time to tend the herb garden. The warmth makes me daydream about summer…..and other herbs I may find to plant in my little patch. It really is a delicious feeling to be enveloped by warmth and brightness in the garden again…
The gift of spare seedling leeks from another gardener has made me so happy………as did my trip to a local nursery to buy herbs (with a kindly given gift voucher) to replace those which were killed in transit. A ‘quick’ visit?……hmmmm…..there’s no such thing……once I am in the garden I find it hard to leave.
During a beautiful afternoon, full of birdsong, sunshine and gentle breezes I finally made a start on the herb bed sowings and plantings…….it is still pretty empty and bare but it’s a long term project and there’s no hurry……
Direct sowing continues as does bed preparation and structure building. The business of May shows no signs of slowing. A couple of simple acts of kindness put a huge smile on my face and a bounce in my step……kindness and love make the world go around.
I treated myself to some herb plants – I rarely buy plants so it was a big deal to me……but, oh, what a disappointment…….the arrival of the grapevine cutting cheered me up considerably……as did watching the activity of the bees around the insect houses.
