My Pelargoniums (Geraniums) have been over-wintered at home and now is the time for me to take some cuttings to increase my stock for the garden this summer. The sun is still shining here so I make the most of it by getting on with some little odd jobs and catching up with garden friends.
I’m so glad I managed to get some time in the garden yesterday to sort out my Pelargoniums for winter…….the temperature has really dropped and we’re beginning to see some frost and these wee plants wouldn’t be able to stand it. They’ll be quite happy at home with me over the winter and then, come spring, they can give me a few cuttings and get back to the garden ready to give me some blousy colour in the summer.
As a vegetable grower it is rare that I get any kind of instant gratification from the kitchen garden…….potting up my geraniums grown from seed last year and over-wintered at home gave me a bit of that….it is lovely to see an instant splash of colour and healthy growth.
