I love curries and make them often……a great way to pack in loads of veg, use up odds and ends…..and they taste so good. Today I am making a cauliflower curry using the ‘free’ kit I got from ‘Simply Cook’. I can’t wait to give it a go!

Beyond Frugal: Hallway Reveal.
Yay, after 24 days the hallway is done. Join me today to see what went on and how it was made lovely again including making a gas meter cover. First impressions count! Preparing my house for sale.
TIY (Try It Yourself): Fabric stash & sewing jobs.
Today I am diving into my fabric stash……..a lot of them are earmarked for specific projects but I’m wondering if there are some pieces I can let go….. Oops, I’m getting distracted…..the whole reason for diving in today is because I need some fabric for a project to finish off the hall makeover…. I’m also demonstrating winding a bobbin on and threading the machine….as requested.
On the Sofa: Chatty Girl – Catch Up.
A long, rambling, chatty catch up. Grab a cuppa, put your feet up ad come hang out with me for a natter…..about all sorts of stuff.
On the Sofa (with books): The joy of the hunt
An eclectic selection today; some old, some new….and an all time favourite. Including: Shaun Bythell ‘Seven Kinds of People You Find in Bookshops’, Dick Proenneke ‘One Man’s Wilderness’, Lady Kitty Vincent ‘Two on a Trip’ and Raynor Winn ‘The Wild Silence’.
Beyond Frugal: Weekly shop £19.50 ($24.60). It’s an expensive one!
It’s not often I spend more than £15 in a week (and that’s for everything on top of food too) so this is a bit of an expensive one for me at £19.50 ($24.60)…….but there are a couple of reasons for the added expense…..including a well deserved (?!) treat!
Beyond Frugal: Making Stuff! A day in the life of a frugal girl.
Doh! Please note….my tired brain talked about Hydrogen being released as Hydrogen Peroxide breaks down…….it is, of course, Oxygen that is released……not Hydrogen! Forgive a very tired brain! It’s going to be a busy day, the list of jobs is long…..I can’t wait to get stuck in! Amongst other jobs I’ll be tackling my Fungus Gnat problem, building a box to hide my gas meter, keeping on top of my bills, comparing hand tools with power tools……and enjoying a couple of surprise parcels. Grab a cuppa…..it’s a long day.
On the Sofa (with books): I hated it! A rare, unfinished book. #booktube
A large selection of books today including one I really loathed – a rare, unfinished book! They include: PD James ‘Sleep No More’, Glennon Doyle ‘Untamed’, Amy Liptrot ‘The Outrun’, Joe Minihane ‘Floating – A return to Waterlog’, Miriam Darlington ‘Otter Country’ and Eowyn Ivey ‘Snow Child’.
Beyond Frugal: A Shocking Bill! No Spend February.
Did you have another ‘no spend’ month? How did you get on? Today I am rounding up how my ‘no spend’ February went………including a rather shocking bill….shocking because it was 24% higher than last year. Grr! Also I share an idea to help you keep motivated and on-track with your ‘no spending’ and saving. I really hope it will help some folk.
Beyond Frugal: Shopping + Free Stuff.
Today I am going to unbox some shopping with you……and a bit of free stuff! The first item was something I needed to buy in any case so I was delighted to get it while it was under offer……..this then took me down a ‘rabbit hole’ of free stuff. I went for it with the free stuff……..but with a big caution attached which I’ll share with you. Beware the freebie!
